Benefits of IPWEAvic Membership
Recognition – Private, local government and public sector organizations recognize IPWEA members as professional, respected and reliable.
Networking – Regular opportunities for practitioners to network with fellow practitioners are provided to discuss public works trends and processes. These include Regional Meetings, State and National Conferences, as well as skills development programs. Members are offered preferential rates for attendance at these functions. Details of upcoming events are available on our website and can also be obtained by contacting our office.
Skills Development – A variety of skills development opportunities are provided including training programs, seminars, workshops and conferences.
Scholarships and Awards– Members are provided the opportunity to access scholarships for study and study tours through the Municipal Engineering Foundation.
Committees – IPWEA has technical committees which review legislation and documentation for local and state government agencies. Members can nominate their areas of expertise and contribute to future policy and documentation.
Publications – There are a range of publications produced by IPWEA.
IPWEAvic Blogs - provides information on the activities being undertaken by the IPWEA Board, Executive, staff and members, as well as up to date information on legislation, skills development and the activities of our strategic partners.
IPWEA E-news – Up to date information is emailed to members on a regular but non intrusive basis. The E-news allows members to access specific links to information of interest, which is contained on the IPWEA and other organisations’ websites.
Public Works Engineering Magazine– Six national magazines are provided each year that discuss topical public works issues, and include information on upcoming conferences and other events.
AskYourMates – Members can be involved in an email exchange of problem solving for other members.
Matesrates Discounts – Members can enjoy the benefits of discounted accommodation through IPWEA’s www.matesrates.org.au
