Darwin is the only Australian city featured in recently-released Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2012 - and is the location for the IPWEA International Public Works Conference in August 2013.

According to Lonely Planet, Darwin offers a “pumping nocturnal scene, magical markets and restaurants, and world-class wilderness areas just down the road, today Darwin is the triumph of Australia’s Top End”.

The first meeting of the International Standards Organisation (ISO) Committee to develop the new ISO 55000 Standard for Asset Management was recently held in Melbourne.

Peter Way, Chair IPWEA NAMS.AU, attended as part of the Australian delegation along with 23 other countries.

Three separate Standards are proposed covering an Overview, Requirements and Guidelines.
