CIVENEX: More Relevant Than Ever
Over fifty years ago, the Institute of Public Works Engineers NSW
(IPWEA) established what was eventually to become CIVENEX. The event was
developed by IPWEA as an industry exhibition and forum for public and
private sector engineers and contractors associated with development and
infrastructure.
“Today, CIVENEX continues as one of Australia’s key annual sources
for review of equipment and services that contribute to productivity in
building communities”, said IPWEA’s Stuart Macleod. “Seminars to be held
at Civenex 2012 will feature high profile expertise and focus on issues
of keen interest to local government decision-makers and contractors.
Matters such as OH&S, risk management and procurement probity will
take centre stage and are expected to be a major attraction for
visitors.
Frank Sticka, IPWEA’s Civenex Event manager said,
“Visitors to trade exhibitions tend to be results
oriented and attend exhibitions because they have specific needs. They
spend their limited time and money looking for ways to make their work
easier or more profitable”.
“Exhibitions are just as much about establishing and maintaining
business relationships. Customers don’t care whether the equipment is
the biggest or the latest. They want to know if it will do the job; if
it is dependable, cost effective, that the exhibitor will be able to
provide ongoing support and most importantly, that can trust the company
to be fair in future dealings”, he said.
CIVENEX 2012 is being held on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th of May at the Western Sydney Dragway at Eastern Creek. Visit www.civenex.com.
