IPWEA NSW has divided the State of NSW into twelve regions based around groupings of Councils. The groups are:
- Orana
- South East
- South West
- Central West
- New England/North West
- North Coast
- Mid North Coast
- Hunter
- Illawarra
- Metropolitan West
- Metropolitan North
- South Metropolitan
The NSW Regional Groups meet on a regular basis, usually four times each year, to discuss a wide range of technical issues such as environmental management; construction; water and sewerage; road maintenance; road safety and professional development. Meetings often include a technical tour, guest speaker or social activity. In addition, special meetings may be called for the AGM or other special events eg seminars and working parties.
