IPWEA Medal

This award was established in 1975 to encourage high performing students in Engineering into the local government industry. The criteria set for the award provides that the student can be either following a part time or sandwich course in Civil Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney, and must be employed by a local government authority at the time of completing the course. The recipient must also have been working in local government for at least three semesters during the period of the course. 

The award comprises $500 and a medal.

It has been the practice in the past to make the presentation during the Excellence Awards Dinner at the NSW Division Annual Conference. Recognition is also made at the UTS.
